Mike Gordon started in the radio business in Aspen, Colorado, in September 1972. While
“On Air” was the dream, sales was the strength. In the early 80’s Mike was invited to work for
an importer of SE Asian decorative hardwood, plywood and veneer. So started a 30-year
career as an international trader of lumber, plywood and millwork.
Retiring at age 63, after two heart attacks Stage 4 cancer was diagnosed. While undergoing chemotherapy, his daughter volunteered his voice to narrate a caregivers guide, “The Vulnerable Child,” for “Mending the Soul” ministries (available on their website mendingthesoul.com ).
This was the beginning of this new career. The voice he always wanted was there all along!
A benevolent God and the voice exercises of Roger Love made this possible. Cured of cancer, a travel guide,
“Turkey for Travelers” (available at audible.com), and an audiobook novel, “The Lightning Field” by Mark James Montgomery (available at barnesandnoble.com, and many other outlets) followed. Recently he has done voice work for corporate clients Samsung/Prismview, Unanimous
Designs, Southpaw Sports and others.
Today, Mike is five-years clean of cancer and working
daily in the business he has always loved, bringing the written word to life. From his home sound studio he is delivering fast, professional voice work for whatever your project requires.
